Ahmed Galal Ismail is Chief Executive Officer at Majid Al Futtaim Holding, the leading shopping mall, retail, and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa, and Asia, with assets of close to USD 20 billion and over 41,000 employees.
Mr. Ismail has been a long-standing leader at Majid Al Futtaim, having held several executive positions across the company’s portfolio of businesses during his tenure of almost two decades, and has played an instrumental role in the growth and development of the Group.
Most recently, Mr. Ismail served as the Chief Executive Officer of Majid Al Futtaim - Properties, from 2018 to early 2023, leading the company’s portfolio of shopping malls, hotels, and mixed-use communities across the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Oman, Bahrain, and Lebanon. Prior to assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer of Majid Al Futtaim - Properties, Mr. Ismail led Majid Al Futtaim - Ventures, overseeing seven business verticals, including Leisure and Entertainment, Cinemas, Lifestyle, Facilities Management, and Consumer Finance. He joined Majid Al Futtaim in 2007 as the Group's VP of Strategy.
Mr. Ismail started his career with Procter and Gamble in Egypt and Germany, before joining Booz Allen Hamilton, where he was named Principal, advising organisations in the retail, media, tourism, and transportation sectors.
Mr. Ismail serves on the Board of Bank NXT in Egypt and is a member of the World Economic Forum’s International Business Council and the CEO Alliance for Climate Change, in addition to being a Trustee of the American University in Cairo.
Mr. Ismail holds an MBA with distinction from London Business School and a B.Sc. in Computer Science from the American University in Cairo.
Amina Taher is Chief Brand and Communications Officer at Majid Al Futtaim, where she leads the Group’s brand and communications strategy, aligning it closely with business priorities and driving impactful engagement with key stakeholders.
With over two decades of experience, Amina is a seasoned business, marketing, and communications leader with a proven track record in commercial growth, brand transformation, and strategic reputation management across financial services, aviation, entertainment, real estate, and government-linked organisations. She is recognised for combining disciplined reputation management with compelling storytelling to strengthen brand equity, build loyalty, and deliver long-term value.
Before joining Majid Al Futtaim, Amina served as Chief Marketing Officer at Wio Bank, where she led brand, marketing, communications, and loyalty strategies for the UAE's fastest-growing digital bank - delivering innovative customer experiences, such as banking solutions for content creators and digital entrepreneurs, and the UAE’s first fully shared banking experience for families.
Prior to that, she spent a decade at Etihad Airways, as Vice President of Group Brand, Marketing and Sponsorships, where she directed global brand strategy across 45 markets, led award-winning campaigns and partnerships with Manchester City Football Club and Formula One. Earlier in her career, she held senior leadership roles at Mubadala Investment Company, Zabeel Investments and Dubai Holding.
Amina is widely recognised as a leading voice in the industry, having been named among Forbes Middle East’s Top 100 Powerful Businesswomen and the region’s Top 50 Impactful Marketing and Communications Professionals. She serves on the boards of Bloom Holding, the Effie Lions Foundation, and The Marketing Society UAE, where she is Chairperson.
She holds a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, an MBA from London Business School, and a Bachelor’s degree in Applied Media Studies with honours from Dubai Women’s College.
Elham Al Qasim is Chief Data & AI Officer at Majid Al Futtaim – Holding, leading the Group’s data and AI strategy to drive sustainable growth, enable digital transformation, and support expansion into new AI-powered sectors.
Before joining Majid Al Futtaim, Elham spent 12 years in Abu Dhabi working with Mubadala Investment Company, the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, and Digital14 amongst others. Prior to that, she was based in the UK, where she started her career in Investment Banking at JPMorgan.
Elham holds a Bachelor's degree in Business from the American University in Dubai and a Master's degree from the School of Social Policy at The London School of Economics and Political Science.
