Du Dials Up its Facilities Management of 3400

22 Jan 2011

The UAE’s integrated telecom service provider- du, has centralized facilities management services across more than 3400 multiple sites across the Emirates as part of a new agreement with MAF Dalkia. Comprehensive facilities management, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing works, specialized services, energy management, health and safety reviews, administrative tasks and a range of both hard and soft facilities management services are all included in the contract that du has awarded to MAF Dalkia.
A key area on which du and MAF Dalkia are collaborating is in sustainable energy and more eco-conscious facilities management for the telecoms operator’s sites. The recently awarded agreement demonstrates du’s confidence in MAF Dalkia’s services, extending a partnership which began in 2007. MAF Dalkia will have the support of “Dalkia Infrastructure de Télécommunications”, a subsidiary of Dalkia specialized in providing telecommunication services to operators such as SFR (Vodafone group) and Orange, guaranteeing that the best-in-class international practices are applied to the contract.
“As we expand our services for business, residential and mobile users across the UAE, it’s vital that all of our sites, from customer service branches to our cell towers, are working at their optimum capacity to ensure the quality and continuity of du’s operations, in order to ensure optimal efficiency of our business” said Fahad Al Hassawi, Chief Human Resources and Shared Services Officer, du.
“Outsourcing and consolidating its facilities management requirements will enable du to focus on its core business – offer telecom services to its customers.  Providing a comprehensive range of both hard and soft management services will ensure that all of du’s physical locations, from mobile towers to customer service centers, operate at a comparably high level of efficiency, safety and cleanliness,” said Alexandre Mussallam, CEO of MAF Dalkia.

Majid Al Futtaim Ventures and Dalkia have recently extended the scope and geography of their joint venture, expanding into additional markets in the Gulf and Levant while extending their expertise in industry sectors including telecommunications, energy, financial services, and the public sector.  “The extension of our contract with du highlights the growing telecoms sector expertise of MAF Dalkia – we see this as a critical growth area across the GCC and Levant as we move into 2011,” added Mussallam.
Established in 2002 as a joint venture between the Majid Al Futtaim Group and Dalkia, MAF Dalkia has been proactively expanding both its geographical and industry reach, and the new agreement with du highlights its growing expertise in the telecoms sector.
